The Saddleback track & field and cross country programs were back in the news this week with the announcement of another commitment from a long-distance runner. Sophomore Dana McGrath has made a commitment to Cal State Fullerton, according to the cross country office.
Sherman named state XC coach-of-the-year

The Saddleback cross country program was back in the news this week when it was announced that head coach Matt Sherman has been named the California Community College Cross Country Coaches Association Coach-of-the-Year. Sherman guided the Gauchos to a second place finish in women’s cross country at the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) State Championships in November.

The Saddleback women’s cross country finished in second place at the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) State Championships on Saturday at Woodward Park in Fresno. It was the best finish in the history of the program.

The Saddleback women’s cross country team was in rare form on Friday, dominating the Cerritos Falcon Invitational at Don Knabe Regional Park. The Gauchos finished 1-2-4-5 as Dana McGrath won her third event of the season.

The women’s cross country and track & field programs were back in the news this week as the coaching office announced that a member of both teams has committed to a four-year school. Gaucho Megan Good has committed to Montana State University where she will compete in both sports.
