Women impressive at Tour de Cuesta

The Saddleback women's cross country team finished second at the Tour de Cuesta on Friday in San Luis Obispo.  Sarah Fleming led the charge for the Gauchos.

Saddleback is finally running at full strength after missing a few athletes for the first few meets of the year.  The Gauchos showed they have some depth, finishing second among the six community college teams at the event. 

Fleming was running her first event of the year and was impressive in her debut, finishing the 5k trek in 21:02.51.  It was good enough for fifth place overall. 

Fleming was one of four Gauchos to finish in the top-15 as Jennifer Fletcher was 12^th among team competitors (22:15.50), Hannah Badger was 14^th (22:19.32) and Sierra Pilarski was 15^th (22:25.73). 

Saddleback will compete again at the Mt. San Antonio College Invitational next Friday.  Race time is scheduled for 10:00 AM in Walnut.
