Annear and Butler headline All-OEC Team

The Saddleback women's water polo team is off the 3C2A State Tournament this weekend and the conference coaches convened over the weekend to decide an all-conference team.  The Bobcats had six players named to the squad.

Saddleback has had arguably its most successful season in program history, so it would only stand to reason that the Bobcats would be well-represented on the annual All-Orange Empire Conference Team.  The Bobcats had six selected, with both Lola Annear and Katherine Butler making the first team.

Annear finished second on the team, tallying 55 goals and 22 assists in 24 games.  She also led the team with 35 ejections drawn and had a season-high six goals in games against Citrus College on September 16 and Riverside City College on November 4.

Butler was a force in the offensive end, leading the team with 75 goals while recording 27 assists.  She also recorded 34 ejections drawn and had a 52.1% shooting percentage.  Butler had a season-best six goals against Fullerton College on September 13.

Joining Annear and Butler on the All-OEC Teams was Marin Hickson, Abigayle DaPena, Lilian Wang and Brielle Horner.  Hickson and DaPena were named the second team while Wang and Horner were named honorable mention.

Saddleback will play West Valley College in the state tournament on Thursday at 10:30 AM.
