Bobcats too much for Fullerton
The Saddleback women's water polo team opened the Orange Empire Conference schedule with a 16-1 over Fullerton College on Wednesday at Fullerton. The Bobcats are now 4-1 on the season.
Katherine Butler was a dominating force in the middle, collecting a game-high six goals on the afternoon. Butler (pictured) had two goals in the opening half as the Bobcats built up a 7-1 at the intermission. She added four more goals in the final half as Saddleback outscored the Hornets 9-0 in the final 16 minutes of play.
Kristen Hemmila was stellar in goal for Saddleback, stopping 14-of-15 shots over three quarters of play. Marin Hickson played the other quarter in goal for the Bobcats.
Saddleback is now 4-1 to start the season. The Bobcats will play in the Riverside City College Tournament this weekend. Saddleback opens with Orange Coast College on Friday at 10:20 AM before facing Crafton College at 1:50 PM. The Bobcats will play both Los Angeles Valley College (9:10 AM) and Citrus College (3:00 PM) on Saturday.
