Gauchos ground Jets in four

The Saddleback women's volleyball team ended a three-game skid with a 3-1 win over San Diego Miramar College on Friday night in the Saddleback Gymnasium.  It was the last pre-conference match before starting Orange Empire Conference play next Friday.

Saddleback started quickly, taking a big lead in the opening set in cruising to a 25-10 win in the opening game.  The Gauchos kept it rolling in set two, grounding the Jets with a 25-14 win and a 2-0 lead.

Miramar fought back in set three, taking a 7-0 lead to start the game.  The Gauchos made a late run, but had to settle for a 19-25 loss to force a fourth game.  Saddleback then put the flight back on course, beating the Jets, 25-12, in the final game to take the match.

Saddleback (5-3) now starts OEC play next Friday when they travel to Orange Coast College (7-0) to take on the Pirates.  The Gauchos and Pirates are scheduled to start at 6:00 PM in Costa Mesa.

With the loss, Miramar is now 0-3 on the season.
