Perez second at OEC heptathlon

The Saddleback women's track & field team was in action on Wednesday and Thursday at the Orange Empire Conference Heptathlon at Riverside City College.  Gaucho Mackenzie Perez was outstanding, finishing second overall.

Perez is from Tesoso High School and was competing in her first event of the year.  She finished second in both the high jump (1.32m) and long jump (4.69m) while finishing third in the 100-meter hurdles (17.40), shot put (7.08m), 200 meters (29.26), javelin (17.69m) and 800 meters (2:44.14). 

Perez finished with 3,105 points, which ranks No. 14 in the state and No. 8 in Southern California.
