Green spooky good against Fullerton

The Saddleback women's soccer team remained unbeaten with a 9-0 win over Fullerton College on Tuesday inside the stadium.  Chloe Green scored six goals to break the program records for goals in a season and goals in a game.

Green was part of a Saddleback offense that shook off a lackluster performance last Friday against Golden West.  The Bobcats played with a purpose, beating Fullerton at every turn and giving the Hornets an early Halloween haunting.

Green scored two goals in the opening half, both on feeds from Summer Hackett.  She then scored three more times in the second frame before being taken out in the 68th minute.  Green would later return in the 82nd minute in an attempt to set a single-game record.   She would get taken down in the box in the 86th minute and convert on a penalty kick for a 9-0 lead with her fourth goal of the half.

Green scored her third of the game unassisted off a rebound in the 49th minute.  She then tallied her fourth in the 61st minute off a pass from Gabby Beaton.  Green then broke the single-season record off a feed from Christina Santoyo in the 65th minute for her fifth of the game.

The six goals from Green broke the program record set by Emily Monnig in 2013.  Her fifth of the game broke the single-season record set by Danyelle Allen (29) in 2013.

Saddleback is now 16-0-1 overall for the season and 8-0-1 in Orange Empire Conference play following the win.  The Bobcats ran their unbeaten string to 24 games with the win.  The last time Saddleback lost a game was on November 4 of last season.

Saddleback will look to continue the streak on Friday when they travel to Orange Coast College.  The Bobcats and Pirates are scheduled to start at 1:00 PM in Costa Mesa.
