Cats win grudge match with Chargers

The Saddleback women's soccer team remained in control of the Orange Empire Conference after a 1-0 win over Cypress College on Friday inside the stadium.  The Bobcats ran their unbeaten streak to 21 games with the win.

Saddleback scored the lone goal in the 50th minute when Emery Simis took a free kick from 35-yards out and buried it into the right hand side of the net.  It was all the Bobcats would need on way to their 10th shutout of the season.

Saddleback outshot Cypress 13-8 for the game and had a 5-4 advantage in shots-on-goal.  The Chargers had a handful of opportunities down the stretch but Bobcat keeper Dublin Synnott turned aside all of the shots to improve to 10-0 on the season.

Saddleback now leads the Orange Empire Conference by one game over Santiago Canyon College with six games remaining on the conference schedule.

Saddleback has now gone 21 games without losing.  The last time the Bobcats lost was on November 4 of last season.

Saddleback will look to run the unbeaten streak to 22 games on Tuesday when they host Santa Ana College.  The Bobcats and Dons are scheduled to start at 3:-00 PM.
