All the Wright stuff against Pirates

The Saddleback women's soccer team is still unbeaten for the season after a 4-0 win against Orange Coast College on Tuesday afternoon inside the stadium.  The Bobcats dominated from start to finish with Alexis Wright scoring a pair of goals.

Saddleback was up to its old tricks on Tuesday, peppering the opposing goal while giving up very few chances in the defensive end.  The Bobcats outshot the Pirates 26-4 for the game, recording their eighth shutout of the season and fourth in a row.

Alexa Livingstone opened the scoring in the second minute of the game when she redirected a throw-in from Alyssa Sims in what would be the only goal the Bobcats would need.  Saddleback made it 2-0 in the 37th minute when Alexis Wright popped in her third goal of the season off a pass from Emery Simis.

Chloe Green got into the action in the second half when she tallied her 17th goal of the season off a pass from Sims for a 3-0 led in the 69th minute.  Wright then collected her second goal of the game in the final minute of the contest on a feed from Simis for a 4-0 advantage.

Saddleback is now 10-0-1 overall for the season and 4-0-1 in Orange Empire Conference (OEC) play.  The Bobcats remain one-half game behind Santiago Canyon College in the OEC with a date looming against the Hawks next week.

Saddleback will resume OEC play on Friday when they host inter-district rival Irvine Valley College.  The Bobcats and Lasers are scheduled to kick off at 3:00 PM inside the stadium.

GAME NOTES:  Saddleback ran its unbeaten streak to 18 games with the win.  The last time the Bobcats came up on the short end of the scoreboard was back on November 4 of last season.   In addition, Saddleback has now gone 375 minutes without giving up a goal.  The last time the Bobcats gave up a goal was with 15 minutes remaining against Cypress College on September 26.
