Unbeaten streak hits 16

The Saddleback women's soccer team ran its unbeaten streak to 16 games with a 5-0 win at Golden West College on Tuesday in Huntington Beach.  The Bobcats haven't lost since November of last season.

Saddleback made quick work of Golden West on Tuesday, scoring five times in the opening half in running and hiding from the Rustlers.  It was the sixth shutout in nine games this season for the Bobcats.

McKenna Pua opened the scoring in the 10th minute when she slammed home a pass from Alexa Livingstone for the early lead.  The Bobcats made it 2-0 in the 20th minute when Alexis Wright fed Anjelina Nieto for her third goal of the season.

Saddleback took a commanding lead in the 32nd minute when Emery Simis scored off a pass from Livingstone.  Simis wasn't finished, scoring her second of the game on a penalty kick in the 35th minute.  The Bobcats added a third goal in a seven-minute span when Shaughnessy Hannegan scored her first goal of the season off a pass from Nieto for a 5-0 lead.

Kadie Albayati started in goal and played all 90 minutes to improve to 2-0 on the season.

Saddleback has now played 16 straight games without losing.  The Bobcats last lost on November 4 of last season when they fell to Santiago Canyon College (1-0).

Saddleback is now 8-0-1 overall and 2-0-1 in Orange Empire Conference play.  The Bobcats will play again at Fullerton College on Friday.  Saddleback and Fullerton are scheduled to start at 3:00 PM.
