Bobcats set record in first road test

The Saddleback women's soccer team won at Long Beach City College, 1-0, on Friday afternoon in Long Beach.  It's the first time in program history that Saddleback has opened with four straight shutouts.

Saddleback traveled to Long Beach on Friday knowing they were in for their first real test of the season.  The Bobcats scored another "Grade-A" performance, beating the Vikings 1-0.

Saddleback scored the lone goal of the game in the 23rd minute when Lacy Ruston redirected a ball off a set piece from Rylie Laisy.  It was Ruston's first goal of the season and couldn't have come at a better time.

Saddleback muscled up on defense the rest of the way to protect the lead.  The Bobcats surrendered just four shots on goal the entire day, with only one over the final 45 minutes of play.  Olivia Wynn remained perfect in goal, recording her fourth win of the season.

Saddleback is now 4-0 on the season, outscoring opponents 26-0 for the year.  The Bobcats will play at Chaffey College on Tuesday.  Match time is set for 2:00 PM in Rancho Cucamonga.
