Gauchos to host Allan Hancock in playoffs

The Saddleback women's soccer team learned its fate for the playoffs when the coaches convened to hand out playoff announcements on Tuesday.  The Gauchos will host Allan Hancock College on Thursday at the Great Park in Irvine.

Saddleback finished 11-5-4 overall in 2019 and earned the No. 15 seed for the 19-team tournament.  The Gauchos finished in third place in the Orange Empire Conference, earning a playoff spot after a one-year hiatus from the post-season.

Allan Hancock finished 8-8-6 overall and was named the No. 18 seed for the playoffs.  The Bulldogs finished in fifth place in the Western State North Division, and this is the first time in program history that they have qualified for the playoffs.

The game is scheduled for 2:00 PM at the Great Park in Irvine.  Due to the chance of rain, it is still uncertain as to what field the Gauchos and Bulldogs will play on at the Great Park.  Heavy rain previous to the game would likely force the game to be played outside the stadium field on one of the auxiliary fields.  We will try to announce the field location previous to the game.
