Stribling wins second event in eight days

The Saddleback women's golf team finished in third place at Wednesday's Orange Empire Conference match at Mesa Linda Golf Course in Costa Mesa.  Katie Stribling led the charge, firing a round of 75 to take home medalist honors.

Stribling now sits in a tie for first place in OEC individual play, tied with Mt. San Antonio's Precious Saelee.  The two have identical 76.0 scoring averages through five events as we head towards the second half of conference play.  Stribling, however, is the only golfer in the conference to win two events after winning at Mesa Linda on Monday.

Saddleback and Mt. San Antonio are in a close battle for second place in the Orange Empire Conference in team play and have been running neck-and-neck all season.  Yesterday the Mounties got the better of the Gauchos by one shot, 333-334.  Mt. San Antonio is currently 28-7 overall in the OEC standings while the Gauchos are 27-8.  College of the Desert is currently in first place at 35-0.

Saddleback had three more rounds in the 80's on Wednesday with Lauren Lee (86), Tomoko Kim (86) and Anna Stowers (87).

Saddleback will be back in action on Sunday/Monday when they travel to Morro Bay for the North/South Invitational.
