Gauchos finish second in first conference match

The Saddleback women's golf team placed second in the opening Orange Empire Conference golf match which was hosted by Fullerton College on the Royal Vista course this week.  The Gauchos' team score of 345 was just four shots off the pace set by Irvine Valley College (341) and 15 strokes ahead of third-place finisher Mt. San Antonio College (360).

Freshman Brittney Do paced the Gauchos with an 81 which proved to be the third-best score posted by the field on the day.  It was just three strokes behind Kaylee Jeon of Fullerton (78) who earned medalist honors.  Saddleback sophomore Deanna Pagaduan (pictured) posted an 83 while freshman Tannaz Khazeni added an 89.

Saddleback picked up three victories on the afternoon and will be back in action next Wednesday (Sept. 20) when Orange Coast College hosts the next Orange Empire Conference match at the Costa Mesa Country Club course.
