Ironwood doesn't resonate well with Gauchos

The Saddleback women's golf team had a tough time at the Ironwood Country Club course in Palm Desert this week, finishing seventh in the conference match with a team score of 394.

It was the third consecutive match where the Gauchos have placed seventh, two steps ahead of Fullerton and Cuyamaca.  

Weather conditions approached triple digits in the desert on Monday, as did golf scores.  There were 13 players in the field who posted triple-digit scores and five player withdrawals from the event.  The Saddleback trio of Haley Shadid (95), Carly Perone (96), and Kathryn French (97, pictured) finished in the middle of the pack.  

Mt. San Antonio (336) edged host College of the Desert (340) for low team honors.

All Orange Empire Conference teams will tee it up again on Wednesday (Sept. 16) at Oak Creek and then again on Monday (Sept. 21) at Twin Oaks in San Marcos.
