Gauchos complete comeback over LA Valley

Saddleback remained unbeaten on the season with a dramatic, come-from-behind 7-6 victory over visiting Los Angeles Valley College on Friday night.

After committing three errors in the second inning and allowing the Monarchs to post six runs, the Gauchos started chipping away at that lead.  Tiffany McCracken cracked a solo home run in the fourth inning and then the Gauchos added two more runs in the fifth inning on a single by Tori Duquette, an RBI double by Katlin Olesky, and then an RBI single by Ariel Carrillo.

Saddleback tied the score with three runs in the sixth inning as McCracken walked, Sarah DiTommaso singled, then Chantel Biehl and McRae Cayton (pictured) stroked back-to-back doubles.

DiTommaso accounted for the winning RBI in the seventh inning after Carrillo was hit by a pitch and McCracken doubled her to third base.  With the outfield playing in, DiTommaso lifted a sacrifice fly to right field that was deep enough to score Carrillo from third base.

Saddleback will play again on Monday when they travel to San Diego Mesa for a 3:00 pm start with the Olympians.
