Barnuevo earns POW honors

The Saddleback men's water polo team picked up some great news on Wednesday when it was announced that Andrew Barnuevo had won the state player-of-the-week award handed down by the California Community College Water Polo Coaches Association (3CWPCA).

Barnuevo has been a force for the Bobcats all season, leading the team with 107 goals through 22 games.  He is currently second in the state in goals scored and scoring at a 70.4% clip.

Barnuevo scored 20 goals with 13 ejections drawn and seven steals this past week in winning the weekly honor.  He was joined by Kate Densmore of Santa Barbara City College, who won the women's state player-of-the-week. 

Barnuevo and Saddleback are currently ranked No. 2 in the 3CWPCA State Rankings.  The Bobcats will play in the Southwestern College Tournament this Saturday in Chula Vista.
