Latest win sets up huge showdown

The Saddleback men's water polo team improved to 4-0 in Orange Empire Conference (OEC) play with a 19-10 win at Riverside City College on Wednesday in Riverside.  The Bobcats will face Golden West College next week for the regular-season title in OEC play.

Saddleback made quick work of Riverside on Wednesday, scoring the first nine goals of the game.  Donald Robertson scored five of those goals himself and finished the day with a game-high six goals.  As a result, Robertson moved into second place on the team with 40 goals for the year.

Saddleback opened up a 12-1 lead at one point in the latter stages of the second quarter before taking their foot off the gas pedal.

Saddleback is now 11-2 overall, falling to a pair of four-year schools last month while on a trip to Connecticut.  The Bobcats are currently tied with Golden West atop the OEC standings with identical 4-0 records.

Saddleback will play in the Cuesta College Tournament this weekend before the showdown at Golden West next Wednesday.  They open the Cuesta Tournament with Ohlone College (9:10 AM) and Modesto Junior College (4:10 PM) on Friday.
