Bobcats cruise past Ottawa

The Saddleback men's water polo team defeated Ottawa University (AZ), 13-10, on Thursday at the University of Redlands.  The Bobcats took a big lead and never looked back.

Saddleback scored the first seven goals of the game in cruising past Ottawa.  Andrew Barnuevo and Donald Robertson both scored two goals in the opening quarter as the Bobcats built up a 5-0 lead through the first eight minutes of play. 

Saddleback kept Ottawa off the scoreboard for more than 10 minutes to start the game before the Spirit finally scored a couple of goals to cut the Bobcat lead to 7-2.  Saddleback then scored five consecutive goals to put the game out of reach midway through the third quarter.

Barnuevo and Robertson would finish with four goals apiece in the win to pace the Bobcats.

Saddleback will get back into Orange Empire Conference play next week when they travel to Riverside City College on Wednesday.  The Bobcats and Tigers are scheduled to start at 3:00 PM in Riverside.
