Water polo tours the northeast

The men's water polo team visited Connecticut this past weekend for the Connecticut College Tournament in New London.  The Gauchos won a game against the host school and played gamely in the rest.

Saddleback was on a rare cross-country trip to the northeast and had a chance to play some of the programs from the region.

The Gauchos had chances in all four games, dropping one of the games by one goal.

Saddleback started with a game against Penn State-Behrend, falling to the Lions 14-13.  The Gauchos had a 6-3 lead at halftime and were tied at 9-9 heading to the fourth quarter.  In that game, Spencer Sellwood scored five goals while Jacob Idris made seven saves in goal.

Saddleback then faced off against Southern California rival Cerritos College, falling to the Falcons 18-11.  The Gauchos fell behind early but kept things close the rest of the way as Andrew Carter finished with a team-high five goals for the game.

Saddleback had a win in game three when they defeated host Connecticut College, 14-9.  The Gauchos had a 7-2 lead at halftime in cruising to the win.  Carson Williams led the way with four goals during the game.

Saddleback dropped game four to Iona College, 18-10, on Sunday.

Saddleback is now 4-5 on the season heading into OEC play.
