Martin is second Gaucho to sign

The Saddleback men's water polo team was back in the news this week with the announcement that another one of its players has signed a letter-of-intent.  Gaucho James Martin made a commitment to Ottawa University, located in Surprise, Arizona.

Martin played two seasons of water polo for Saddleback and was also a part of the swim team this past spring.  He led the Gauchos last fall with 94 goals, making the All-Orange Empire Conference Honorable Mention Team.  Martin finished with 128 goals in 60 games over the course of two seasons at Saddleback.  His biggest game of the season came against Modesto Junior College on September 29 when he netted 11 goals against the Pirates.

Martin becomes the second member of the men's water polo team to commit to a four-year university this year and the third Saddleback athlete to commit to Ottawa University.  Ottawa is located in Surprise, Arizona, and will play its first season of water polo this fall as an independent under the NAIA umbrella.
