Gauchos win three at Mesa

The Saddleback men's water polo team won three games at the San Diego Mesa College Tournament this past weekend to improve to 9-3 on the season.  The Gauchos dominated both games on Saturday.

Saddleback split a pair of games on Friday when they nipped El Camino College 10-9 and fell in a close battle with Palomar College, 11-9.  The Gauchos were out to see if they could have some more relaxation on Saturday and came out with a sense purpose in beating Grossmont College, 15-6, and host Mesa, 21-5.

Joshua Mourer led the attack on Saturday, finishing with five goals in each game.  Max Gonter finished with a total of six goals for the day while Andrew Dimino had five.

Keeper Jeff Rebrukh played the entire opener against Grossmont and finished with 11 saves in picking up the win.  He combined with Brandon Davis for eight saves against Mesa in the late game.

Saddleback is now 9-3 overall and will host Riverside City College (6-5, 1-0) in an Orange Empire Conference match on Wednesday.  The Gauchos and Tigers are scheduled to start at 3:00 PM at the Saddleback Aquatics Center.
