Fisk blazes the track at Mt. SAC

Saddleback distance runner Kyler Fisk had another solid outing at the 55th annual Mt. SAC Relays on Saturday in Walnut, California.  Fisk moved into the No. 4 all-time performer spot in the 5,000 meters with the fastest time in 17 years.

Fisk had been moving up the list of all-time performers in program history heading into the meet and was the No. 8 after a solid performance earlier in the season.  That all changed on Saturday as Fisk ran a personal best by 15 seconds, moving up to No. 4 all-time.   It was the fastest time for the program since Adalberto Sanchez in 1996.

Fisk's time of 15:05.61 was good enough for fourth place at the event and was the second best time among competitors from Southern California.  It also gave him the 16th fastest time in the state this season and the 28th fastest time in the entire country.

The three faster times in program history were ran by Mark LaBonte (14:23.7, 1980), Adalberto Sanchez (14:43.2, 1996) and David Howard (14:50.5, 1982).

The Gauchos will compete again on Friday at the Orange Empire Conference prelims at Santa Ana College.
