Cats qualify three for state

The Orange Empire Conference Tournament was held on Thursday at Riverside City College and the Bobcats had three players move through to the state tournament at Ojai later in the month.

Inclement weather has been one of the themes throughout the season and once again it was a talking point at the OEC Tournament this week.   The doubles matches were completely wiped out with singles matches being played on Thursday.

Saddleback qualified three players to the state tournament, and oddly, none of them ever lifted a racquet in qualifying for their respective events.

Dawson Janeski qualified in singles play based on his body of work during the season.  The doubles team of Sean Viravouth and Max Banks moved through based on seedings.  Viravouth and Banks were seeded No. 9 for the tournament with the top 11 teams moving on to the state tournament.

Saddleback's trio of players will compete at the 3C2A State Tournament in Ojai, California, on April 24-28.
