Khalili tabbed to head men’s tennis program

The Saddleback athletics department announced this week that Kamron Khalili will take over as the new men's tennis coach during the spring of 2022.  Khalili takes over for Bud Davis, who coached the program for 12 years.

Khalili has spent more than 20 years teaching tennis in Southern California.  He has been a USPTA teaching professional at Nellie Gail Ranch Tennis Center and high school varsity coach at Capistrano Valley Christian High School.

"I'm super grateful and excited to carry on the traditions of excellence that Saddleback College Tennis has been known for," Khalili said.

Khalili takes over for Bud Davis, who coached at the school since 2010.  During his 12 seasons at Saddleback, Davis made the playoffs six times in 10 seasons with a regional semifinal appearance in 2017 (there was no playoff format in the place the last two seasons due to COVID-19).  Davis finished 115-101 overall at Saddleback, winning an Orange Empire Conference championship in 2012.

Khalili and the Bobcats will start play in early February, opening with a home match against San Diego City College on February 3.
