Gauchos top RCC to move into 2nd

The Saddleback men's tennis team picked up a big win on Tuesday with a 6-3 win over Riverside City College in Riverside.  With the win the Gauchos are now tied for second place in the Orange Empire Conference.

Saddleback opened a commanding lead in singles, finishing off the team match with five wins in six matches.  Riku Goto, Connor Mengert, Michael Park, Kian Saidi and Kris Harris all won in straight sets, allowing the Gauchos to try some different combinations in doubles play with the team match in hand.  Goto and Park (pictured) then combined for an 8-1 win at No. 1 doubles, becoming the lone two-time winners on the day.

Saddleback (9-5) is now 3-2 in conference play and in a three-way tie with Riverside and Orange Coast for second place.  The Gauchos will host Grossmont College in a non-conference match on Friday.  Match time is scheduled for 2:00 PM.
