Gauchos bolt past Chargers

The Saddleback men's tennis team shut out its second straight opponent on Tuesday with a 9-0 win at home against Cypress College at the Saddleback Courts.  The Gauchos dominated from start to finish and moved into second place in Orange Empire Conference play.

Saddleback breezed past Cypress, winning all 17 sets and barely working up a sweat.  The Gauchos won 96-of-102 games, dominating a Chargers squad that has yet to win during the 2016 campaign.  The Gauchos have now swept two straight matches heading into a huge match with first place Irvine Valley on Thursday.

Vance La, Michael Park and Kian Saidi all won 6-0, 6-0 in singles.  Saidi (pictured) then teamed with Zuriel Aaron for an 8-0 win at #3 doubles, winning all 20 games he played on Tuesday.

Saddleback faces a big test on Thursday when it hosts IVC, the team at the top of the OEC standings.  Match time is set for 2:00 PM.
