Men finish tied for 3rd

The Saddleback men's swim team opened the Orange Empire Conference schedule with a tie for third place on Friday inside the Saddleback Aquatics Complex.  Will Prawira had a big day, picking up 45 points for the team.

Prawira finished in the top three in two events, finishing second in the 200 breaststroke (2:16.49) and third in the 100 breaststroke (1:05.09).  He was also seventh in the 200 individual medley (2:16.49).

Daivik Patel also had two finishes in the top six with a fourth place finish in the 100 backstroke (1:01.59) and a sixth place finish in the 200 backstroke (2:20.24).  The Bobcats had three others finish in sixth place in events as Jared Chavez was sixth in the 1,650 freestyle, Oliver Child was sixth in the 100 backstroke (1:04.01) and Ian Manson was sixth in the 200 breaststroke (2:32.67).

Saddleback's lone win of the week came on Thursday when diver Kevin Perow won the 1-meter competition with a score of 149.1.

Orange Coast College won the men's event with a team total of 682 points.  Golden West College was second with 568 points.  Saddleback tied with Riverside City College for third place with 400 team points.

Saddleback will compete again on March 21-22 at Orange Coast College.
