Gauchos finish in top-10 at PCC Invite

The Saddleback men's swim team finished in 10th place at the Pasadena City College Invitational on Friday and Saturday in Pasadena.  The Gauchos had three top-10 finishes and more in the top-20.

Saddleback was lined up against some of the top competition in the state this past weekend, swimming against some of the better teams in the state.  The Gauchos managed a 10th place finish out of 19 programs, with a handful of stellar individual performances.

Andrew Dimino led the charge, finishing in the top-10 in two separate events and just outside the top-10 in another.  Dimino finished fifth in the 200 Freestyle race and eighth in the 50 Freestyle race to earn valuable team points.  Dimino touched the pad in 1:46.98 in the 200, which was just 0.07 seconds out of fourth place and 2.92 seconds off the pace set by Santa Monica's Matt Holt.  He also was eighth in the 50, finishing in 22.08, and 11th in the 500 Freestyle after posting a time of 5:02.83.

Joining Dimino with top-20 finishes was Luke Prendiville, Nick Deloney and Charlie Yu.   Prendiville was ninth in the 1650 Freestyle when he finished the race in 18:08.69.  Deloney was 16th in the 400 Individual Medley with a time of 4:52.65 while Yu was 16th in the 1650 Freestyle with a time of 19:37.37.

Saddleback will be back in the water when they host the Orange Empire Conference Championships on April 18-19.
