Shipton goes low
The Saddleback men's golf team was in action on Monday against Orange Empire Conference competition at Navy Golf Course in Cypress. Sophomore Jack Shipton took home medalist honors.
Shipton is off to a great start to the 2023 campaign and continued his roll on Monday when he shot 3-under-par (69) at the Navy Course. Shipton shot -2 (35) on the front nine and -1 (34) on the back to win by three shots over Cypress College's Berkecem Renda, Cuyamaca College's Eduardo Maynez and Orange Coast College's Tiger Tahvildari. Shipton finished with seven birdies on the day to go along with four bogies.
Saddleback finished fourth out of five teams with a team score of 391. The Bobcats had two other players with scores in the 70's as both Tyler Chapman and Dallas Ryan shot 76 to finish tied for 13th in medalist play.
Saddleback men's golf is back in action next Monday at Costa Mesa Country Club.
