Bobcats down Lasers for 16th win

The Saddleback men's basketball team remained hot on Tuesday with a 73-64 win at Irvine Valley College.  It was the fifth win in the past six outings as the Bobcats moved into a tie for fourth place in the Orange Empire Conference standings.

Saddleback and Irvine Valley were pretty even throughout the first half, with the Bobcats carrying a 41-37 lead into the locker room at the intermission.  The Bobcats came out hot in the second half and left the Lasers in their wake, cruising to a 16th win of the season.

Jimuel Reyes was the star on offense for Saddleback on Tuesday, scoring a team-high 25 points for the night.  Reyes (pictured) was 10-of-13 from the field and 4-of-6 from three-point range.  He saved his best for the second half when he made 5-of-6 shots from the field, connecting on 3-of-4 from beyond the arc.

Atiba Taylor was a great second fiddle, scoring 22 points on the night.  Taylor was 11-for-11 from the free throw line as the Bobcats made 14-of-15 from the charity stipe for the night.

Luc Krystkowiak led Irvine Valley with 25 points for the game.

Saddleback is now just a half game out of third place with three games remaining in the regular season.  The Bobcats finish with Fullerton College, Riverside City College and Santa Ana College.  Up next for the Bobcats is a home date on Thursday against Fullerton at 5:00 PM.
