Stith makes a commitment

The Saddleback men's basketball program was back in the news this week when the basketball office announced that Shawn Stith has made a commitment to a four-year university.  Stith will attend California State University at Bakersfield after giving a commitment to the Roadrunners this week.

Stith was named to the California Community College Men's Basketball Coaches Association (CCCMBCA) All State Team and was the co-Player-of-the-Year in the Orange Empire Conference.  He averaged 15.9 points and 7.0 rebounds-per-game while shooting 61.4% from the field and 77.7% from the free throw line.  Stith scored in double-figures in nine out of the last 10 games of the season and had a season-high 28 points against Santa Monica College on December 15.  He finished his career at Saddleback with 797 points and 365 rebounds, and is No. 2 all-time in made free throws and No. 3 in free throw attempts in Saddleback men's basketball history.

Cal State Bakersfield is located in Bakersfield, California, and plays and NCAA D1 schedule within the Western Athletic Conference (WAC).  The Roadrunners finished 18-16 overall and 7-9 in WAC play this past season and played in the COLLEGEINSIDER.COM Tournament in the post-season, making it to the quarterfinals.
