Stith earns all-state recognition

The Saddleback basketball team was back in the news this weekend when it was announced that Shawn Stith had been named to the California Community College Men's Basketball Coaches Association (CCCMBCA) All State Team.  Stith was the co-Player-of-the-Year in the Orange Empire Conference.

With the state tournament going on in Ventura this weekend the CCCMBCA got together to make their selections.  Stith was 1-of-12 players selected named the Southern California First Team.  He averaged 15.9 points and 7.0 rebounds-per-game while shooting 61.4% from the field and 77.7% from the free throw line.  Stith scored in double-figures in nine out of the last 10 games of the season and had a season-high 28 points against Santa Monica College on December 15.  He finished his career at Saddleback with 797 points and 365 rebounds, and is No. 2 all-time in made free throws and No. 3 in free throw attempts in Saddleback men's basketball history.

Stith was also in the news last week when he received an official offer from the University of Arkansas. In additon, Stith has offers from Idaho, Cal State Bakersfield and Grambling.
