Former Gaucho ready for March Madness

The Saddleback men's basketball team has one player to watch as you sit on your couch for the next four days and soak in as much basketball as possible.  Former Gaucho Breaon Brady will take the court on Thursday as Houston faces San Diego State.

Brady played at Saddleback during the 2015-16 & 2016-17 seasons and was part of a Gaucho program that went 55-7 in two seasons, finishing runner-up at the 2016 state finals.  He was a First Team All-Orange Empire Conference selection for the 2015-16 season and a Second Team All-OEC selection in 2016-17.  Brady played in 60 games in two seasons at Saddleback, averaging 10.4 points and 6.1 rebounds-per-game.  He had a career-high 25 points on two occasions for the Gauchos during the 2016-17 season.

This season at Houston, Brady has started 29-of-31 games, averaging 4.4 points-per-game while shooting 55% from the field.  He is second on the team with 132 rebounds and has 10 blocked shots.  Brady had a season-high 21 points against Temple when he had 21 points and nine rebounds for the Cougars (12/30/17).  He has led Houston in rebounds in seven games this season with a high of 11 against Liberty University (11/18/17).

Houston (26-7) opens the NCAA Tournament as the No. 6 seed in the West Region.  They play San Diego State (22-10) on Thursday at 4:20 PM in Wichita, Kansas.
