Basketball sets record with latest commit

The Saddleback men's basketball program was back in the news this week when the basketball office announced that another member of the 2015-16 team had signed a letter of intent.  Charles Trotter was the latest to sign, giving the Gauchos 10 commits from last year's squad.

Trotter played in 32 games last season, averaging 4.2 points and 2.3 rebounds-per-game.  He had a season-high 10 points against Santa Barbara City College on November 20 and San Bernardino Valley College on November 28.

Trotter has signed a letter of intent to Hope International University, located in Fullerton.  The Royals play under the NAIA umbrella in the Golden State Athletic Conference.  HIU was 26-7 last season, losing in the opening round of the NAIA National Tournament.  The Royals also have Kyle Hoag, who played at Saddleback the previous two seasons.  Trotter joins Daniel Young at Hope International this season, who also played on the 2015-16 team.

Trotter's commitment gives Saddleback 10 for the year, surpassing the record number of nine set in 2011 and 2013.
