Hexom gives Saddleback nine commits

The Saddleback men's basketball team was back in the news this week when the basketball office announced that another member of its 2015-16 squad had signed a letter of intent.  It now gives the Gauchos nine commits for the year, tying a program record.

Saddleback forward Lyle Hexom has committed to Peru State College, located in Peru, Nebraska.  The Bobcats play under the NAIA umbrella in the Heart of America Athletic Conference and finished 22-11 in 2015-16.  They lost to Carroll College in the opening round of the NAIA national tournament.

Hexom led Saddleback with 194 rebounds while averaging 10.9 points-per-game.  He had a season-high 24 points at Irvine Valley College on February 11 and was the leading scorer for the Gauchos in the state tournament, earning all-tournament recognition.

Hexom is now the ninth Gaucho to sign at a four-year school, tying a record set in both 2013 and 2011.
