Afrookhteh says yes to Nevada

The Saddleback football program was back in the news this week with the announcement that another member of the 2023 team has committed to a four-year university.  Kicker Kian Afrookhteh will play at the University of Nevada, according to the football office.

Afrookhteh was an All-National Division Southern League First Team selection this past season after putting up sensational numbers for the Bobcats.  Afrookhteh made 16-of-19 field goals this past year and was 41-of-42 on extra point attempts.  In addition, Afrookhteh was named to the JCGridiron.com All-America Second Team following the season.

Nevada is an NCAA D1 program, located in Reno, Nevada.  The Wolfpack will play in the Mountain West Conference in 2024.

Afrookhteh came to Saddleback from Dana Hills High School where he lettered in football and soccer before graduating in 2022.

Afrookhteh is the 14th commitment of the off-season for Saddleback football.
