Two more Gauchos make commitments

The Saddleback football program was back in the news this past week when it was announced that two more members of the 2018 squad had made a commitment to a four-year university.  Leo Tamba and Sefo Mailangi are the two latest Gauchos to commit.

Tamba will continue his playing career at the University of Idaho, located in Moscow, Idaho.  The Vandals play in the Big Sky Conference.  Tamba played in all 11 games for Saddleback in 2018, finishing with 36 tackles while tying for the team lead in tackles-for-loss (8).  As a result, he was named to the Second Team All-National Division Southern League Team following the season.  Tamba recorded at least one tackle in every game this season, including seven-tackle performances against Mt. San Antonio College, Grossmont College and Bakersfield College.

Mailangi will continue his football career at San Diego State University, located in San Diego, California.  The Aztecs play in the Mountain West Conference West Division.  Mailangi played for two seasons for Saddleback, earning Second Team All-National Division Southern League recognition in 2018.  He totaled 22 tackles and four tackles-for-loss in 2018, including four-tackle performances against Pasadena City College and Grossmont College.  Mailangi played both offense and defense for the Gauchos, also playing tight end on the offensive side of the ball.
