Two more Gauchos sign letters of intent

The Saddleback football program had two more athletes sign letters of intent this past week as both Segun Olubi and Darryl Wyrick made commitments to four-year schools.  This brings the total of commitments to eight for the year.

Olubi and Wyrick join Tony Williams, Brandon Smith, Chase Bradley, Blake Kennon, Manny Pelzer and Tyler Wilson, who signed earlier during the recruiting season.

Olubi will continue his football career at Harding University, located in Searcy, Arkansas. The Bison play an NCAA D2 schedule within the Great American Conference.  Olubi led the team with 55 tackles for the year, also finishing with 5.5 tackles-for-loss, two sacks and one interception.  As a result, Olubi was recognized by the conference with Second Team All-National Division Southern League status.  Olubi's saved his best for last when he recorded 12 tackles and two tackles-for-loss in a 34-31 bowl win against Bakersfield College.

Wyrick will continue his football career at the University of Sioux Falls, located in Sioux Falls, South Dakota after signing.  The Cougars play an NCCA D2 schedule within the Northern Sun Conference.  Wyrick was a part of both the 2015 and 2017 teams at Saddleback, earning All-National Southern League recognition both seasons.  He finished with 48 tackles, one interception and 15 pass break-ups in 21 games for the Gauchos and was part of a state runner-up team in 2015.
