Transfer numbers continue to swell
The Saddleback football team is up to 23 commitments for the year after it was announced that another Gaucho has given a commitment. Running back Emari Demercado has decided to continue his collegiate career at Texas Christian University.
Demercado had a sensational freshman campaign at Saddleback when he totaled 1,469 yards from scrimmage, scoring 15 times on the ground and two more times through the air. Demercado was praised for his efforts by earning All-America honors as well as National Division Southern League First Team recognition.
Demercado had the 10th best rushing season in Saddleback history and ranks 16th in career rushing yardage despite only playing one season for the Gauchos. His 54 receptions last season was the 4th most catches by a running back in any one season in Saddleback history while his 104 points-scored ranks 6th in Gaucho history for a single season..
Demercado will continue his career at Texas Christian University, located in Fort Worth, Texas. The Horned Frogs play in the Big 12 and finished 11-3 in 2017, defeating Stanford in the Valero Alamo Bowl (39-37).
Demercado's commitment brings the Saddleback total to 23 for the year.
