Two more Gauchos make decisions

Two more Gauchos make decisions

The Saddleback football office was back in the news this week with the announcement that two more members of the 2015 squad have made decisions on their future plans.  Wide receiver Dominic Collins and center Markus Boyer have new SEC and Pac 12 homes.

Collins has given a verbal commitment to the University of Missouri and is expected to sign next week during the late signing period.  He was a unanimous selection to the All-National Division Southern League this past fall after catching 78 balls for 1,299 yards and 14 touchdowns.  In two seasons at Saddleback, Collins totaled 112 catches for 1,754 yards and 23 scores.  The 23 career touchdowns broke the previous school record of 21 set by former Gaucho Jerard Rabb during the 2003-04 seasons, while the 1,754 yards ranks #3 all-time and the 112 receptions ranks #6.  Missouri is located in Columbia, Missouri, and plays in the Southeastern Conference. The Tigers finished 5-7 in 2015.

Boyer will continue his career at UCLA after the announcement was made on Thursday.  He, like Collins, was a unanimous selection to the National Division Southern League First Team.  For Boyer, it was the second straight season of being a unanimous first team selection.  UCLA plays in the Pac 12 Conference and finished the 2015 campaign at 8-5, losing to Nebraska in the Foster Farms Bowl.
