Baseball to open regional against Fullerton

The Saddleback baseball team is gearing up for the 3C2A Southern California Super Regional Tournament at Los Angeles Valley College this week.  The Bobcats will open against Orange Empire Conference foe Fullerton College on Thursday.

The 3C2A Super Regionals are a three-team, double elimination tournament.  The schedule has three different scenarios, depending on wins and losses.  What we know right now is that Saddleback and Fullerton will play the opening game on Thursday with the loser playing a game later in the day against Los Angeles Valley College. 

Saddleback and Fullerton have a long history.  They have played 138 times total, with Saddleback holding a 94-44 advantage.  Most recently the Bobcats took 2-of-3 from the Hornets in mid-March when all three games were low-scoring a tight. 

Saddleback has played Los Angeles Valley 15 times total, holding a 12-3 advantage in head-to-head competition.  The last time the two programs met was in the opening round of the 2022 playoffs when Saddleback beat the Monarchs in two straight games (9-1, 16-0). 

Fullerton and Los Angeles Valley have not met this season.  They last met in the playoffs last year when Fullerton took 2-of-3 from the Monarchs (3-9, 10-7, 10-4) to advance to the regional finals.
