Baseball commits hit 11
The Saddleback baseball team was back in the news on Tuesday as pitcher Chase Spinning made a commitment to the University of New Mexico. Spinning is the 11th member of the 2018 team to commit to a four-year university.
Spinning will play at New Mexico, located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The Lobos play in the Mountain West Conference and finished 20-33-1 overall and 11-19 in MWC play in 2018.
Spinning finished 3-0 in 2018 with a team-leading 1.42 ERA in 19 innings pitched. He saved his best for last when he went four innings against Mt. San Antonio College in picking up a win in the regional finals against the Mounties.
Spinning graduated from Whitney High School in Northern California before spending a season at Solano College in 2016. He is the 11th member of the 2018 team to make a commitment to a four-year school.
