Ten K's Special for Brashears But Gauchos Still Fall

Saddleback pitcher Tyler Brashears (2-2) records 10 strikeouts in going the distance, but the Gaucho bats could not support him offensively as the visiting Lasers posted a 2-0 victory in a game lasting just two hours.

Brashears scattered just four hits, but the stars were aligned for the Lasers when one of those hits came following a Gaucho error and a hit batsman to score one run in the fourth inning.  A groundout to the shortstop pushed in the second run that inning.  Both runs were unearned.

Saddleback only collected four hits itself.  Irvine Valley pitcher Enzio Perez (3-0) earned the complete-game victory as he struck out seven Gaucho batters.  Former Gaucho Taran Tani made seven put-outs in right field.  Only Saddleback shortstop Josh Fuentes found the wall behind Tani, stroking a triple in the first inning.  Fuentes was stranded at third.

Slate Miller walked and stole second with two outs in the sixth inning and Brandon Cody reached base on an infield single and then stole second with two outs in the seventh inning.  Noah Graham walked with two outs in the ninth inning and pinch-runner Trevor Sealey stole second.  But the Gauchos would leave him there to end the game.
