Cats pounce on Hawks in OEC match

The Saddleback women's beach volleyball team split two matches on Friday at Irvine Valley College.  The Bobcats dropped the opening match to Orange Coast College before beating Santiago Canyon College, 4-1.

Saddleback lost the opening match, 5-0, to the second place Pirates before bouncing back against Santiago Canyon.  The Bobcats were awarded wins at the 4's and 5's as the Hawks were short players in their first season of competition.

Saddleback won at the 1's and 2's before dropping the 3's.  Eva Gardner and Tyler Ebrahimzadeh defeated the Santiago Canyon pair in straight sets at the 1's while Sarah Patin and Delaney Wilson swept past the Santiago Canyons 2's. 

Saddleback is now 4-7 overall and 2-5 in Orange Empire Conference play.  The Bobcats will continue with conference play at Golden West on Friday at 10:00 AM.
