Wenzel gives commitment to four-year school

The Saddleback women's volleyball program is back in the news this week as it was announced from the volleyball office that sophomore Stevie Wenzel has given a commitment to a four-year university.  Wenzel will play both indoor and beach volleyball at Ottawa University.

Wenzel played both indoor and beach volleyball for the Gauchos over the past two years.  She played on the 2016-17 indoor squad and finished with 22 kills in 12 matches.  Wenzel also played on the beach volleyball team for the past two seasons and was instrumental in Saddleback winning its first-ever Orange Empire Conference match in April of 2017.

Wenzel will play at Ottawa University, located in Surprise, Arizona.  The Spirit play under the NAIA umbrella and will start playing beach volleyball this next year after a number of years of indoor volleyball.  Ottawa finished 10-13 overall in indoor competition this past fall.

Wenzel graduated from Champion High School in Boerne, Texas.
