Bio

Mario Trutanic took over the program at Saddleback College in May of 2022.  With better than 20 years experience in coaching, Trutanic was most recently an assistant coach at the University of Redlands.  He was instramental in Redlands winning the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship in 2021-22 and as a result part of a staff that was named SCIAC Coaching-Staff-of-the-Year.  

Previous to Redlands, Trutanic has coached a number of programs at the high school level and was an assistant coach at Palomar College in 2016-17.  During that season the Comets won the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference title, making it to the CCCAA Final Four.

In addition to his coaching career, Trutanic is the president and founder of Da Drone Dude, a Southern California-based photography and film production company that produces high quality photos and videos.

Trutanic has a bachelor's of arts degree in liberal studies from Antioch University and a master's of arts degree in sports management from the University of San Francisco.
