Bio

Jeff Fischer was hired to the Saddleback coaching staff during the summer of 2022.

Fischer spent five years at Ventura where he was the offensive coordinator, quarterback’s coach and recruiting coordinator for the Pirates.  Under his guidance, Ventura was a dominating force, offensively.  The Pirates scored 42.9 points-per-game in 2021, scoring 468 points in 11 games.  It was the third time in the past four years that Ventura ranked in the top-10 in the state in points-per-game.  Ventura made the playoffs in every season since Fischer was on the staff, and had an appearance in the CCCAA State Championship Game in 2018.

Previous to Ventura, Fischer spent four seasons at Cerritos College.  During his tenure at Cerritos the Falcons were 27-16, making it to the Western State Bowl (2013), Golden State Bowl (2014) and Southern California Bowl (2015).

Fischer played quarterback at Cerritos College in 2007 and 2008, earning second-team All-National Division Central Conference honors as a sophomore. His .638 completion percentage still stands as a school record, as do his 180 completions in a season. At the time of his sophomore year, the 2,063 passing yards ranked as the second most in a season in program history.

Following his playing days at Cerritos, Fischer earned a scholarship and transferred to Utah State University. In his first season with the Aggies Fischer saw action before a shoulder injury put an end to his playing career. Fischer then joined the coach staff at Utah State as a graduate assistant in 2011, working with the offense and the quarterbacks.

Fischer played football at Lakewood High School and was a Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete as a senior, being selected to the Press Telegram Dream Team and named the Moore League Player of the Year his senior season. That year, he passed for over 2,000 yards and 20 touchdowns and was a four-year letterman in football and three years on the baseball team. In his junior year, Fischer was a member of the Lakewood High CIF Division I championship baseball team.

Fischer earned his Bachelor's degree in Health and Physical Education from Utah State University in 2011, and finished his Master's degree in Health, Physical Education and Recreation from Emporia State University in 2013.
